Forming negative statements is surprisingly simple in Italian. By negative statements, we mean any sentence such as:
◉ I don’t want to go to school
◉ Andrea doesn’t eat meat
◉ They can’t come to the party
◉ It isn’t very interesting
Basically, a negative statement is when the verb is negated to mean to NOT DO/BE something.

To form a negative statement in Italian, you simply add NON immediately before the conjugated verb:
NON + [VERB]
NON VOGLIO ANDARE A SCUOLA
I don’t want to go to school
ANDREA NON MANGIA LA CARNE
Andrea doesn’t eat meat
NON POSSONO VENIRE AL PARCO
They can’t come to the park
NON È MOLTO INTERESSANTE
It’s not very interesting
LE CASE NON SONO GRANDI

NON PARLATE ITALIANO

NON ABBIAMO FIGLI
