But did you know that Italy has the largest bamboo labyrinth in the world?
It is called “Il Labirinto della Masone” and it is located in Fontanellato in the province of Parma, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy.
Its story began in 2005, when publisher and collector Franco Maria Ricci decided to create a unique work that would combine art, nature and culture. The project was born from his passion for labyrinths, symbols of research and introspection.
The area, which covers more than 8 hectares, features more than 300,000 bamboo plants ranging from 30 centimeters to 15 meters tall, arranged in an intricate path that winds through paths and flower beds. The labyrinth is not only a place of recreation, but also an open-air artwork, enhanced by art installations and sculptures. In the center of the labyrinth, visitors can find an area dedicated to culture with a library and exhibition spaces.
The Labirinto della Masone has quickly become a major tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. In addition to the labyrinth itself, it offers cultural events, art exhibitions and fine dining. Today it represents an example of how nature and art can coexist harmoniously, offering a unique experience to those who visit it.
